Color Dungeon | Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake 100% Walkthrough "8/22" (No Commentary)
In this part, we enter the optional Dungeon of the game, Color Dungeon. At the end we take on the Boss, Hardhit Beetle and defeat it to claim either the Red Mail or the Blue Mail! Afterwards, we activate the teleporter at Dampe's Shack and find our 26th Secret Seashell underneath a rock nearby. We then head east and use the Angler Key to unlock the 4th dungeon, Angler's Tunnel. Next, we activate the teleporter near the entrance to Angler's Tunnel and toss a bomb in the hole next to the teleporter to get our 27th Secret Seashell. Moving on, we backtrack towards Dampe's Shack and begin climbing up a portion of Tal Tal Heights in order to access the next dungeon. We start by moving the boulders and entering the first cave we find. Inside on the 2nd screen, we find our 14th Piece of Heart. Along the way, we find Papahl and give him the Pineapple to receive the Hibiscus. Lastly, we reach the cliff overlooking Angler's Tunnel and jump down to the dungeon's entrance.Collectibles: 10

Hardhit Beetle's Attacks:
Hardhit Beetle will constantly move towards you in an attempt to bump into you while also firing unblockable beams at you that you'll need to jump over. It will also occasionally summon minor enemies to distract you.
Strategy:
To fight Hardhit Beetle, we need to continuously attack it in order to defeat it. It will start out blue and change to red as we damage it, and if we stop attacking or take too long getting another attack in, it will revert back to blue. The best way to keep on it, is to use the Roc's Feather in combination with our Sword to perform jump slashes, and to keep rushing it.
- Notes -
- There are two mini-bosses in the Color Dungeon. The first is the Giant Buzz Blob which is a slime based enemy. It cannot be defeated without the use of Magic Powder to force it back into it's weakened blue form. The second is the Stone Hinox, who will jump to stun us with earthquakes while boulders rain down on us. It may be easier to fight this from higher up, so that the boulders drop passed you more often.
- The Color Dungeon, as said before, is an entirely optional dungeon. However completing it will give you access to either the Red Mail, or the Blue Mail. The Red Mail will permanently double your attack power as if you had a Piece of Power at all times. The Blue Mail will permanently double your defense as if you had a Guardian Acorn at all times. To my knowledge it is not possible to go back and trade them if you don't like your choice, so pick wisely!
